Lyndsey and Nathan | Limestone, TN
Willow Creek Acres Wedding

“You have me. Until every last star in the galaxy dies. You have me.”

Lyndsey and Nathan’s wedding day was much like yesterday, rainy with a side of dreary. They tied the knot at Willow Creek Acres which is a gorgeous venue nestled in Limestone, TN. We may not have been able to take full advantage of the beautiful scenery due to the weather but there was however an awesome pavilion that they were able to move the ceremony to. Oh and it was draped with the cutest string lights – which if you know me, you know I am completely obsessed with. My heart always breaks for couples that have to face rain on their wedding day. I know that so much time, money, and planning goes into that one day and it can be heartbreaking when things don’t go as planned. These two took (more…)

Liz and Joe | Greeneville, TN
General Morgan Inn Wedding

You know that feeling you get when you meet a new group of people and you can just tell immediately that they are going to be so much fun?? That’s exactly how it felt when I met Joe and his groomsmen in the hallway of the second floor at the General Morgan Inn. Liz and Joe treated their entire wedding day like it was one big party – just as it should be. They are one of the most laid back, joyful, and definitely one of the silliest couples that I’ve ever had. I can honestly say I’ve never laughed quite that hard at a wedding before.

The two of them traveled all the way from Chicago, IL to East Tennessee for their wedding. They fell in love with the area after visiting Joe’s parents who moved here a few years ago. Aside from their (more…)

8 Things Your Photographer Will Thank You For

As couple, you should connect and feel comfortable with your photographer since they will be with you during some of the most intimate moments throughout your wedding day. Communication is a huge part of any relationship including this one. While it’s important for you to express your needs and expectations for how you want your wedding day to be, it’s also important to find out what they need from you to ensure the day runs as smooth as possible. Here is a short list of things of things you can do to help make your photographer’s job easier.

1.  Stick with the Timeline: We all know that there will be things that happen on your wedding day that are out of your control. However, it’s important to allow some extra time for those things to unravel. It’s also important that everyone is well informed as to when they are expected to be where and what time you want them to be ready by. Sticking to the timeline, will not only allow the day to run smoothly but will also give you the best shot at getting all the photos you want without feeling too rushed and without keeping you from your guests and reception for too long. Chelcie and Daniel | Chuckey, TN
Chuckey Engagement Session

This cute couple and I kept running into each other at weddings that I shot over the last few years. However, I didn’t really get to know them on a personal level until they chose me as their wedding photographer. To be honest, I feel like Chelcie and I would have been good friends had we been in high school at the same time. We both loved and devoted a lot of our time to dance and cheerleading but I feel like it goes deeper than that. Even though we hadn’t met yet, she followed my work for years and even won a free session with me that they used for their engagement session. I am so grateful for her support of me and my business especially during the time when she didn’t even know me. I think something in me has just always felt a connection to her.

When I asked her about how they met she told me that even though he was two years older than her, she had a crush on Daniel since she was in the 6th grade. They didn’t start dating until the summer before her junior year which was right after he graduated but as they say, the rest was history. He had the cutest proposal planned for her during a trip to the beach which was almost ruined by a storm. With the help of some friends, he placed a (more…)

Jessica and Ronnie | Johnson City, TN
Rose Hill Wedding

I’m in some pretty awesome groups on Facebook, one of them being the Tuesday’s Together group which is the local chapter of the Rising Tide Society. If you are a creative entrepreneur and you’ve never heard of it, check it out immediately! It’s nationwide and they believe in educating and empowering others in the spirit of community over competition. It’s within that group that I first found out about Jessica and Ronnie. Katy Keen who is the founder of Seasons of Hope Inc., made a post asking local vendors to help make this sweet couple’s wish to get married come true. Jessica is a nurse who took off from work to spend time with her fiancé, Ronnie, was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in August. She originally went to Seasons of Hope Inc. hoping to get some help with Christmas this year for her fifteen year old son, Brandon. After Katy looked over the application and spoke with Jessica, she found out that she really wanted to marry the love of her life and that’s exactly what she did on Saturday. (more…)

Kansas and Brent | Limestone, TN
Davy Crockett Birthplace Family Session

One of my favorite little families is hitting the blog this evening and man are they cute! Their love story is one of the cutest stories that I’ve ever heard. Brent was friends with Kansas’s cousin that is the same age as them so they played together as kids. It wasn’t till high school that they started dating but they’ve been inseparable ever since. Not only do they absolutely adore each other, but they always have the cutest outfits during their sessions. You may remember seeing their maternity session on the blog a few months ago but if you missed it, you can view it here. I shot these a couple months ago at Davy Crockett Birthplace in Limestone, TN. I get to take Scarlett’s six month photos in a couple short weeks and I seriously can’t wait to get my hands on her again. (more…)

Autumn and Zachery | Rogersville, TN
Hale Springs Inn Wedding

I first met Autumn when she attended The Pink Bride Wedding Show that I participated in back in March. We didn’t get to talk much there because there were sooo many people but I’m so glad that our paths crossed. Over the last few months, we have become good friends and I love that she messages me sometimes just to tell me about her day. She and Zachery tied the knot a week and a half ago at Hale Springs Inn in Rogersville, TN. It was my first time shooting there but I’ve always admired architecture of the building and the adorable little courtyard on the side. I found out at the wedding that the two of them actually (more…)

Brittany and Travis | Oahu, HI
Hawaii Engagement Session

Every once and a while something happens in your life that changes it forever. I really believe that this trip was one of those moments for me. It still gives me chills thinking about this sweet couple flying me literally all the way across the country from the mountains of East Tennessee to the beaches of Oahu, Hawaii for their wedding. Even though I’ve had the pleasure of visiting Hawaii before, it was my first time shooting there and I couldn’t have asked for a better couple to do it with.

They tied the knot on Wednesday, May 18th of last year at Waimanalo Beach on Oahu which you can view here. They told me when they booked that they wanted to do a trash the dress session and an engagement session while we were there. Naturally, I was ecstatic about being able to take full advantage of the trip but (more…)

Ciera and Bronson | Greeneville, TN
General Morgan Inn Wedding

It rained all day on Ciera and Bronson’s wedding day but we didn’t let that stop us. The General Morgan Inn was our playground… and what a beautiful one it made. I’ve shot there more times than I can count over the years but I can honestly say it never gets old. I’ve loved that ritzy little hotel since the first time I stepped inside and it’s such an iconic staple in our small town of Greeneville, TN. Not only is it (more…)
